Paris based alternative rock band Mark Palmer asked me to direct the visuals of their first EP. They didn't want to reveal the art direction made for the LP, so we went to another direction, keeping the colors.

This time i had the whole album to work with. High quality music made by two great guys, in a bedroom with a guitar and a laptop. Talent doesn't need big gear. I also pimped the myspace a bit...

Could you imagine a better phone call for an ex rock band guitar player and composer that became a graphic designer than " hey, hi ! We're a rock band and we would love to have you directing the visuals for our first record, does it interest you ? " Honestly, i'd say NO.
Troyes based Rock band called HucK recently asked me to supervise the visual direction for their first album, simply called Huck.
So i created a dark pattern for the whole background stuffs, oppositing this sharp geometry with handmade draws, making a strong contrast, as the music does.
I also created the logotype, massive and sharp, related to the guitar sounds...

Morning Decay

Morning Decay is a side project next to running the Lowpop studio, with a unique idea : be creative every morning, wherever you are, whatever is available around you, wether it's pencils, paint, a camera, cigarettes ashes and fingers, or a 27" imac with all the creative tools needed.
It's an experiment about creativity, how it reacts with environment, how it evolves with time and training.. It's also a good way to measure how creativity enhances itself over a year...
Twice a month, i'll ask a creative entity (Designer, drawer, photographer...) to make a cover and respect three simple rules : Do it in the morning, use an hour to achieve it, and call the band Morning Decay.
